Read moreA strong image, hard, cold chains, twirling through space with monumental strength, juxtaposed with a small delicate woman who manipulates them with exquisite precision. See moreTransported back to the smokey, jazzy atmosphere of the 1940s, the voice of Nina Simone compels a woman to gracefully climb a red fabric to heaven, only to suddenly drop her into the wild and dynamic rock-n-roll of Muse. Playful and charming, sensual and seductive, ethereal and physical, she moves seamlessly between the two worlds coaxing the audience into ‘Felling Good’!
See moreIn a slow and spiraling accent, the rope begins to restrain the performer until she is entwined in a complicated sculptural knot. In the blink of an eye, she has magically freed herself. A continuous eb and flow of knotting and unknotting, beautiful, ephemeral rope sculptures are created and disappear. A dynamic ending leaves you wondering what freedom is.
Together with her partner, Howard Katz, Liz creates shows using the aerial apparatus, counterweight rope. Their shows blend aerial acrobatics, dance, theater and live music into one seemless expression.
The two performers are connected by a long rope, through 2 pulleys. Balanced on the precarious and fragile strength of the human hand, without the other, one would fall and yet with the other, both can fly. Employing the wire techniques used in film stunts, the two dance, swing, jump, and fly, sweeping the space with dangerous beauty.
